Tongue Tie Surgery

A tongue tie or lip tie (ankyloglossia) is a congenital condition in which the strip of tissue (lingual frenulum) beneath the tongue is shorter or tighter than usual. This restricts the tongue’s full range of motion, potentially impacting various functions.

In infants, it can lead to breastfeeding difficulties, causing pain for the nursing parent and hampering the baby’s ability to latch properly. As children grow, untreated tongue ties may result in speech difficulties, oral hygiene challenges, and difficulties with solid foods.

For some, it may cause discomfort or limitations in tongue movement.

Ankyloglossia Surgery or Tongue Tie Operation

At Hello Dental, we exclusively utilise laser tongue tie surgery.

  1. Precision: Laser procedures are highly precise and can target specific tissues with minimal damage to surrounding areas.
  2. Less Bleeding: Laser treatment typically causes less bleeding compared to traditional scalpel techniques because the laser clots blood vessels as it cuts.
  3. Reduced Infection Risk: The heat from the laser also reduces the risk of infection.
  4. Faster Healing: Many patients experience faster healing with laser treatment, as it promotes tissue regeneration and minimizes scarring.
  5. Less Discomfort: Laser procedures are often associated with less postoperative pain and discomfort.

Client Testimonials

We Value
your feedback

My daughter (almost 2 months at the time) came here for a tongue release procedure. Can't say enough good things about Dr Gin, We especially love that Dr Gin ALWAYS spoke to my daughter as her own person, never speaking to her through mummy or daddy. This small habit told us that she loved and really knew how to communicate with children. We have recommended many friends to Hello Dental, and will return in the future when the need arises for us, even though we stay so far away in Sg Buloh

Your kindness and patience during our visits have been greatly appreciated, and your expertise and professionalism have given me the confidence that my child's dental health is being well taken care of. Your dedication to your profession is truly remarkable, and we feel blessed to have you as our dentist.

Once again, I want to say a heartfelt thank you for all that you do. Your care and attention have made such a positive impact on my child's life, and we are truly grateful for it.

We were recommended to Dr Gin for a frenotomy procedure for our baby boy. She was very professional and patient in explaining the procedure so that we could make the most informed decision. There was also thorough follow up. Overall we were comforted by her competence and her compassion, would definitely recommend her! 🙂
