WE DON'T JUST LOOK AT THE TEETH.

The airway is complex.

That’s why an airway-focused dental assessment isn’t simply about checking whether someone snores.

We look at the broader picture, with the assessment tailored to each patient’s age, symptoms and clinical findings.

Growing Faces Means More Than Straight Teeth.

When we assess a growing child, we’re not only asking:

“Are the teeth straight?”

We may also consider:

  • Is there enough room for the teeth?
  • How are the jaws developing?
  • Where does the tongue rest?
  • Does the child breathe through the nose or mouth?
  • How is the child sleeping?

Early assessment can help identify developing dental, jaw and oral-function concerns while a child is still growing. Any treatment recommendations will depend on your child’s age, development and individual findings.

Snoring? Poor Sleep? There May Be More Than One Piece to the Puzzle.

Obstructive sleep apnoea and sleep-disordered breathing can have multiple contributing factors.

For appropriate patients, dental assessment can help evaluate whether oral and craniofacial factors may be relevant.

We may also consider:

  • How is your sleep?
  • Do you breathe through your nose or mouth?
  • How are your jaws and bite positioned?
  • Could oral or craniofacial factors be contributing to your symptoms?
  • Have you been diagnosed with, or are you experiencing signs of, obstructive sleep apnoea?

Any treatment recommendations will depend on your symptoms, diagnosis and individual clinical findings.

We've had a wonderful experience at Hello Dental with Dr. Gin for our 6-year-old son's airway expansion treatment. Dr. Gin was incredibly patient and thorough in explaining the process, making both my son and me feel comfortable and confident. Highly recommend for anyone considering airway expansion treatment for their child.

Nice and clean office, and friendly staff. Dentist was very thorough and knowledgeable. We were getting a second opinion in Malaysia for airway issues in my child, who is currently seeing an airway specialist in the US. Overall we were very impressed.

Rizwan Badar

We took our kids to this clinic for an airway checkup. We didn’t expect to learn so much from a dental visit. The whole airway explanation was honestly a new discovery for us. Dr Chun took time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. Really appreciate the care and patience. Highly recommended.

Not Sure Where to Start?

Start With an Assessment,
Not an Appliance.

You don't need to know whether you need expansion, MARPE, myofunctional therapy or a sleep appliance.

That's what the assessment is for.

Tell us what you've noticed, and our team will help determine the appropriate next step.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No. Mouth breathing can have different causes. A proper assessment is needed to understand what may be contributing to it.

Occasional snoring and persistent snoring are not necessarily the same. According to the American Paediatric Guidelines, if your child frequently snores, mouth-breathes, or sleeps restlessly, an assessment can help determine whether further evaluation is appropriate.

No. Treatment depends on the child’s dental development, jaw structure, bite, symptoms and clinical findings.

Dentists can play an important role in appropriately selected cases, particularly through oral appliance therapy and assessment of dental and craniofacial factors. Diagnosis and management of obstructive sleep apnoea may also involve a sleep physician and other healthcare professionals.

For selected patients, oral appliance therapy may be considered. The appropriate treatment depends on the individual’s diagnosis, severity, anatomy and medical assessment.

Yes. MARPE may be considered for selected patients following appropriate clinical and radiographic assessment.
